The New Services Incubation Team identifies and incubates new, high-leverage, services that accelerate the Amazon flywheel. We are a team of dedicated Product Managers, TPMs and Engineers who are working towards launching the next wave of disruptive e-Commerce services for Amazon. Our team is responsible for creating the best shopping experience for customers and sellers wherever they go on their favorite mobile devices. To do so, we invent new and innovative ways for customers to interact with Amazon on their mobile devices.
We solve interesting, real-world challenges - from optimizing content for small screen sizes, developing new ways to shop using mobile devices, overcoming slow networks to inventing different ways customers can interact with mobile devices. We want to enable our customers to go from wanting a service to search, shop and buying it in 30 seconds or less! And all this is just the tip of the iceberg!
We're going to change the way mobile world interacts, experiences and buys. Along the way, we're going to face challenging and interesting problems. We're going to argue about how to solve them, and we'll work together to find a solution that is superior to each of the proposals we came in with. We'll make tough decisions, but we'll understand why – We'll be the dream team.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong on data structures and problem solving
- Solid experience in Java, C++, or C# (expert in at least one)
- Experience in Perl, Ruby, or Python (exposure to at least one)
- Solid UNIX or Linux experience
- Great understanding of database theory and solid experience in at least one relational DBMS
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Obsession with quality and customer experience
- Attention to detail coupled with ability to think abstractly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
